How much of Ferrari does Fiat still own?

Unless you are living under a rock, you must know that at some point Fiat owned 90% of Ferrari. But what about the current status of this romantic Italian relationship(I'm guessing Ferrari, the hot Italian wife and fiat, the rich fat Italian businessman)? Let's find out

Brief History:

Fabbrica Italiana di Automobili Torino a.k.a Fiatmade their first cars back in 1900. By 1910, Fiat was the largest automotive company in Italy. Throughout the years, Fiat slowly kept building its market presence and reputation across the American and European markets. it remained the largest automobile manufacturer in Europe and the third in the world after General Motors and Ford for over 20 years, until the car industry crisis in the late 1980s.In 1970, Fiat employed more than 100,000 in Italy when its production reached the highest number, 1.4 million cars, in that country. As of 2002, Fiat built more than 1 million vehicles at six plants in Italy and the country accounted for more than a third of the company's revenue. Fiat has won multiple 'European Car Of The Year' titles with iconic names like the Fiat 124 and the panda.
Ferrari on the other hand, is completely opposite of what Fiat stands for. Based in Maranello. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939 out of Alfa Romeo's race division as Auto Avio Costruzioni, the company built its first car in 1940. However, the company's inception as an auto manufacturer is usually recognized in 1947, when the first Ferrari-badged car was completed. Throughout its history, the company has been noted for its continued participation in racing, especially in Formula One, where it is the oldest and most successful racing team, holding the most constructors championships and having produced the highest number of drivers' championship wins (15). Ferrari road cars are generally seen as a symbol of speed, luxury and wealth.

Ownership Logistics:

Ferrari was so good at Le Mans and Formula 1 at the time because they didn't hesitate to spend money on development and research for their race cars. And just like most other racing-focused and limited production companies, Ferrari eventually ran into a financial crisis and no option left other than to put the company on sale. But Ferrari being Ferrari, refused all offers from companies outside of Italy(ford was one of them). Finally, in 1969, Fiat S.p.A. acquired 50% of Ferrari and expanded its stake to 90% in 1988.

On 29 January 2014, it was announced that Fiat S.p.A. (the former owner of Fiat Group) was to be merged into a new Netherlands-based holding company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA), took place before the end of 2014. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles became the new owner of Fiat Group. On 1 August 2014, Fiat S.p.A. received necessary shareholder approval to proceed with the merger, which became effective 12 October 2014. In October 2014 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA) announced its intentions to separate Ferrari S.p.A. from FCA; as of the announcement FCA owned 90% of Ferrari. The separation began in October 2015 with a restructuring that established Ferrari N.V. (a company incorporated in the Netherlands) as the new holding company of the Ferrari group and the subsequent sale by FCA of 10% of the shares in an IPO and concurrent listing of common shares on the New York Stock Exchange. Through the remaining steps of the separation, FCA's interest in Ferrari's business was distributed to shareholders of FCA, with 10% continuing to be owned by Piero Ferrari-The only living son of Enzo Ferrari. The spin-off was completed on 3 January 2016.

As of today, the owners of Ferrari are The Public(67.09%),
Exor N.V. - a holding company, incorporated in the Netherlands and controlled by the Italian Agnelli family(22.91%) and Pierro Ferrari(10.00%)
